The true guardian of India’s plastics industry including its manufacturers, companies, plastic raw material supplier and the entire ecosystem, AIPMA (All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association) has a long history dating back to more than seven decades, having been established as one of the biggest apex bodies for the sector by visionaries previously. Having sizably expanded its presence over these decades, AIPMA now has its head offices at Kolkata, Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. AIPMA works for the promotion and betterment of the plastics industry while offering guidance through its training programs, export cell and various initiatives to combat challenges that the sector faces. AIPMA has obtained recognition from the Ministry of Chemical & Fertilizers, Department of Petrochemicals, Government of India with representation at several State and Central Government Ministries for raising issues and problems of the industry. It also has a vital role to play in recommending budgetary structures, tracking Government regulations and their uniformity and also making policies for the plastics sector. 

There are more than 22,000 members at the organization through its affiliated associations across the country and more than 175 cities. These members come from multiple industry segments encompassing processors, manufacturers of machinery, polymer manufacturers, exporters, suppliers, traders, mold and dye manufacturers, institutions and consultants. Close to 90% of members at AIPMA come from the MSME segment. The organization conducts global and national seminars along with meetings, conferences, lectures and meetings between sellers and buyers along with periodic training programs. It also helps in liaison between the industry and the Government. 

AIPMA is also the only selling principal agent in the country from the year 1992 for several reputed plastics events and exhibitions. These include the likes of Plastpack Africa, South Africa, Arabplast, Dubai and NPE, US among many others. Trade delegations are also organized for Germany’s K exhibition, Koplas in Korea, Taipeiplast in Taiwan, Chinaplas and Asiamold in China and NPE in USA. Trade meetings are also set up between members of AIPMA and delegations coming from the Trade Bodies, Chambers of Commerce and other business associations from several countries. AIPMA is also a founding member of Plastindia Foundation which was set up in the year 1987 with a view towards joint promotion of the Indian plastics industry and its interests at a global level.
